Airline IndiGo Refutes Passenger's Allegations of Airport Overpricing: "No Irregularities Detected"

Dhillon has provided evidence to support his claims. He pre-weighed his bag, which he says was under the permissible limit of 15 kg. His bag showed different weights on different scales, with readings of 15 kg, 16 kg, and 18 kg.
IndiGo has denied any discrepancies in their baggage weighing equipment, stating that all scales are regularly calibrated and certified by airport authorities. The airline explained that the total checked-in baggage for Dhillon and his co-travellers exceeded the permissible limit, thus incurring excess baggage charges.
However, the incident has sparked discussions about the need for consistent and accurate baggage weighing practices in airports. Goa International Airport has confirmed that annual certification of weighing machines at check-in counters is carried out by the Office of the Controller, Legal Metrology, Government of Goa.

IndiGo has assured that all baggage weighing scales are maintained, routinely calibrated, and certified by airport authorities to ensure accurate readings.
