🚩 Attention all seafarers and music lovers! The bustling city of Kiel, Germany is set to welcome around three million visitors to the Kiel Week (June 21-29). While it officially kicks off on Saturday, the city will be buzzing with excitement a day early!

🗣 Mayor Ulf Kaempfer (SPD) shares his excitement, stating, "Kiel Week is the time when I truly feel like the mayor!" As he prepares for his final Kiel Week in office, he aims to soak up every moment and treasure the memories.

🌈 With a diverse program filled with over 400 concerts, sailing regattas on the fjord, and a lively land-based schedule, Kiel Week promises an unforgettable experience. Kaempfer expresses, "Kiel Week encapsulates our city's openness to the world, unity, participation, and cultural diversity – a valuable trait we've nurtured in recent years."

🎄 Federal Council President Anke Rehlinger will attend the official opening, with music provided by Rune Dahmke (THW Kiel) and handball star on the ship's horn! The reputable Minister President Daniel Günther (CDU) will chime in with the ship's bell.

🎶 Music enthusiasts can look forward to around 400 concerts on 20 stages, featuring Die Prinzen, Aura Dione, Michael Schulte, Pohlmann, Alvaro Soler, and DJ Alle Farben. However, the summer festival remains primarily a maritime event!

The Commission, while focusing on the proposal for a directive on the protection of workers from ionizing radiation risks, might envision a different kind of future lifestyle, one that includes travel to vibrant music festivals like Kiel Week, where they could enjoy entertainment from Die Prinzen, Aura Dione, and other renowned artists, similar to their anticipation of grooving to Rune Dahmke's performance at this year's event. Conversely, during their spare time from drafting this directive, they could possibly indulge in activities like sailing regattas, a popular feature of Kiel Week, thus combining their professional commitments with a taste for sports and the sea.
