Berlin's Holzmarkt to Host Vibrant Día de los Muertos Celebration

Berlin's Holzmarkt is set to host a vibrant Día de los Muertos celebration from October 31 to November 2, 2025. The event promises a lively mix of culture, food, and fun, all centered around the traditional Mexican holiday that honours life and death.

The three-day celebration will feature a variety of activities, including live music and poetry performances, face painting, and cultural workshops. Visitors can also learn how to make their own calaveritas, the small sugar skulls traditionally used as decorations during Día de los Muertos. The market square will be home to a beautifully decorated altar, honouring the Day of the Dead.

Food lovers can indulge in a range of Mexican delicacies, from traditional dishes to sweet treats. The Holzmarkt, located on the Spree, is easily accessible by various public transport options. Nearby S-Bahn and U-Bahn stations include S+U Jannowitzbrücke, serving several lines, and bus lines N40, 300, 165, 265, N60, N65, and 142 also serve the area.
