Get ready for an exciting event, folks! Top Russian writers, critics, musicians, architects, and other experts will grace us with their presence at the "Tom III" Arts and Literature Festival set to occur at Tomsk State University (TSU) from May 15th to 18th.

This much-anticipated event is a collaborative effort between the State Museum of Fine Arts (GMIAI) named after A.S. Pushkin, and TSU. Mark your calendars for the grand opening, where Irina Prokhorova, a renowned literary scholar, editor, and the Chief Editor of the "New Literary Review," has been invited to speak.

Originally announced in the press, "Tom" is the brainchild of GMIAI and TSU. The fourth book festival in the series will kick off on May 15, 2025, with the main events centered around the theme "Perceiving Art." Already confirmed, around 30 publishers will showcase their works at the festival book fair.

The festival will open with a discussion titled "Reading Art Well." Anna Gord, a consultant director at GMIAI, Ilya Doronchenkov, the deputy director for research at GMIAI, Irina Prokhorova, a literary scholar, publisher, and the Chief Editor of "New Literary Review," and Inna Tubalova, a doctor of philological sciences at TSU, are scheduled to participate.

The event will feature meetings with famous authors, bloggers, critics, musicians, architects, and directors throughout the 17th and 18th of May.For example, Regina Polivann, a historian of architecture, will speak on her lecture "Two Moscows," discussing the architecture in the newest film adaptation of Mikhail Bulgakov's "Master and Margaret."

A family program is planned for the Saturday, 17th of May, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., offering storytelling sessions, workshops, and games for both children and adults. Keep an eye on the festival's official website for a comprehensive schedule in the coming weeks.

Irena Prokhorova, the festival's keynote speaker, is a philologist, a scholar of culture, and a public figure. She has received the State Prize for the Best Educational Project (2002), the "Liberty" Award for contributions to Russian-American cultural relations (2003), the Andrei Bely Prize (2006), the French Order of Arts and Letters (2005), and the Order of the Legion of Honor (2012).
