Boosting Airliner Services in Australia and New Zealand: Cathay Pacific Increases Flights for Improved Travel Opportunities
Cathay Pacific is enhancing its presence in Australia and New Zealand, responding to seasonal demand and increased travel demand in the region. The airline will be boosting its flight frequencies and adding new destinations, providing greater flexibility for both outbound and inbound travelers.
In Australia, Cathay Pacific is making significant strides. Starting from 27 October 2025, the airline will operate double daily flights to Perth (PER) and Brisbane (BNE), increasing the total weekly flights to 14 for each city. The flight numbers for Perth are CX144 and CX140, while for Brisbane, they are CX150 and CX156.
Additionally, Cathay Pacific will resume its seasonal service to Adelaide (ADL), operating three times per week from 12 November 2025 to 27 March 2026. The flight number for this service is CX174. Furthermore, a seasonal service to Cairns (CNS) will also be introduced, operating three times per week from 10 December 2025 to 28 February 2026. The flight number for this service is CX146.
In New Zealand, Cathay Pacific is increasing its flight frequency from Auckland (AKL) to 11 weekly flights starting from 2 December 2025. Seasonal services to Christchurch (CHC) will also return earlier, covering the summer peak in the Southern Hemisphere.

Secretary for Transport and Logistics, Mable Chan, commented on Cathay Pacific’s expansion, stating, "With the Three-Runway System already commissioned late last year, we have the enormous capacity to grow."
Moreover, Cathay Pacific and its low-cost subsidiary HK Express will add 18 new destinations in 2025, marking a significant expansion for the airline. As of June 2025, Cathay Pacific has reached 100 global destinations.
