Copenhagen is set to host two high-level European summits from October 1 to 2, marking one of the largest security operations in recent years. The events will involve world leaders, NATO representatives, and EU officials, with Denmark taking the lead in organizing these important meetings.

Extensive security measures will be in place from September 30 to October 2, with roadblocks and route changes likely. To help navigate through the traffic disruptions, information on traffic changes can be found on trafikinfo.dk. Additionally, the Copenhagen Police will provide live updates on traffic changes throughout the duration of the summits.

The summits will take place in various locations across the city, including Copenhagen's Bella Centre, Christiansborg Palace, and Amalienborg Palace. On the evening of October 1, a state dinner will be held at Amalienborg Palace, hosted by King Frederik X and Queen Mary, for European leaders attending the talks.

Traffic is expected to be most disrupted in Copenhagen city centre (Indre By), Amager, and areas around Copenhagen Airport. Those planning to travel to the airport during this period may experience longer travel times. It is advised to plan accordingly and allow extra time for journeys.

Metro services are expected to run as normal, providing an alternative mode of transport for those looking to avoid congested roads. However, bus routes will be diverted during the summits, so passengers are encouraged to check their specific routes before travelling.

On October 2, a wider meeting of the European Political Community (EPC) will take place at Copenhagen's Bella Centre, involving representatives from around 50 countries, NATO, and EU institutions. The EU summit on defense, security, and support for Ukraine will be held at Christiansborg Palace on October 1.

The Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has warned that all traffic in Copenhagen will be affected during the events. For the latest updates on traffic disruptions and the summits, follow the Copenhagen Police's live updates and traffic information on trafikinfo.dk.
