Diversified Athletic Event Held in Altdorf
Get ready for an exciting day of sports and community spirit! On September 27, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, the sports field of DJK Altdorf will host an inclusive sports festival organised by the Communal Youth Work of the district of Landshut and the Open Disabled Work of the BRK district association Landshut. This weather-independent event is designed to bring children, youth, and families together, fostering a sense of community and encouraging exchange among participants.
The festival offers a variety of sports activities that are accessible to all, regardless of disabilities. Young athletes can showcase their skills on the football court of the Bananenflanke, while those interested in climbing can test their skills in a safe environment provided by the mobile climbing wall, courtesy of the Peak7 climbing hall.
For those seeking a more relaxed and inclusive atmosphere, Special Olympics Bayern will offer non-competitive stations focusing on fun and inclusion. Yoga classes with YogaSprosse-Inklu and a participatory yoga performance by Magic Yogis are also on the schedule, providing opportunities for relaxation and mindfulness.
Sports enthusiasts can learn the basics of blind baseball under the guidance of experienced trainers, with the Bavarian Bats providing the opportunity for visually impaired children and youth to participate. The festival will also feature an inclusive family sports' football darts, a creative mix of football and darts for all ages. A show match will allow participants to play with experienced players.
Beate Schaffelhuber, known for her achievements in alpine skiing, will offer a wheelchair obstacle course for children and youth with and without mobility impairments. Doris Schärer, with a teaching background in sports education, will conduct a triple jump course.
