Dong Thap Province Sees Stunning Economic Growth in 2025's First Eight Months
Dong Thap Province has reported significant economic growth in the first eight months of 2025, with a surge in new businesses and investment projects. Despite no specific information on companies launching projects, the province has seen a remarkable increase in business establishment and investment capital.
Dong Thap Province has witnessed a staggering 176 per cent year-on-year increase in new business establishments, with nearly 1,800 businesses set up in the first eight months. The province also attracted 49 new projects with a combined registered capital of over $840 million. This influx of investment has contributed to a 12.9 per cent rise in the industrial production index.
The province's budget revenue has also seen an 11 per cent increase, reaching over $656 million. Retail sales and export values have surged by 9.6 per cent and 67 per cent of the full-year target, respectively. Tourism has played a significant role, with nearly 4.7 million visitors generating approximately $120 million in revenue.
Dong Thap Province's economic progress is evident in its increased investment, business establishment, and revenue generation. With a strategic focus on becoming the gateway of the Mekong Delta region, the province is expediting its government operations to better serve citizens and businesses. As of now, $272 million of the public investment target has been disbursed, with plans to fully disburse by the end of the year.
