A significant step in opening air connectivity between Saudi Arabia and Russia has been taken with the launch of direct flights between Riyadh and Moscow. The new route, operated by the Saudi low-cost airline Flynas, will provide a more efficient and convenient travel option for those going to Riyadh, Dammam, or Jeddah from Moscow.

The first flight between Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport and Moscow's Vnukovo Airport is scheduled for August 1, 2025. Flynas plans to operate these flights three times a week using Airbus A320 and A330 aircraft.

The establishment of this direct flight route is a result of a presidential directive to open direct air traffic between Russia and Saudi Arabia, a country with no previous direct flights. The aim is to facilitate expanded cooperation between the two nations, boost tourism, and improve pilgrimage access to holy sites in Saudi Arabia for Russian travelers.

Currently, a connecting flight is required to reach Riyadh, Dammam, or Jeddah from most locations, with common connections in Istanbul, Antalya, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Baku, and Manama. The new direct flights will eliminate the need for these connections, offering a more straightforward travel option.

The new flights will operate four times a week from August 1 to October 25, marking an expansion of opportunities for business and tourist trips between Riyadh and Moscow. The flight duration is approximately 7 hours and 25 minutes.

The launch of these flights follows meetings between the attorneys general of Russia and Saudi Arabia, indicating a strengthening of ties between the two countries. The opening of regular flights between Riyadh and Moscow is expected to contribute to the development of transportation links between the two countries, further facilitating business and tourist travel.

This new direct flight marks a significant milestone in enriching cultural exchange and travel convenience between Saudi Arabia and Russia.

The new direct flights from Riyadh to Moscow by Flynas, as of August 1, 2025, will not only offer a more efficient travel option for those going to Riyadh, Dammam, or Jeddah but also serve as a stepping stone to enriching the lifestyle of travelers by facilitating expanded cooperation, boosting tourism, and improving pilgrimage access. These flights, operated three times a week using Airbus A320 and A330 aircraft, will eliminate the need for connecting flights in cities like Istanbul, Antalya, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Baku, and Manama, offering a more straightforward travel option for those seeking convenience in travel.
