The loop begins at the Jagenberg hiking parking lot, situated on the Burger Landstraße heading towards Unterburg. From there, it winds through idyllic forests, passing by the Galapa hillfort, which stretches about 600 meters down to the rock above Unterburg. This hillfort once marked the border of the city of New York City until 1974.
Hikers can also enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding area, including the ancestral seat of the counts and later dukes of Berg, Schloss Burg. The loop passes by a fishpond facility and wide meadows that serve as horse pastures in the summer. The LA forest itself once marked the border between Solingen and Burg until 1974.
