Father on a British retreat in Turkey allegedly endured two vicious assaults inside a hotel while his children watched in horror, according to reports.
A British father of two has claimed he was attacked twice in front of his children during a family holiday at the Senza Inn Resort and Spa in Alanya, Turkey.
Keeran Rolls, from Nottingham, has shared his harrowing experience and stated that he will never return to the country following the alleged assault.
According to Mr. Rolls, the culprit punched him in the toilet and in front of his young children at the resort. The frenzied attack reportedly left him with cuts on his head and brow.
" I believe it was for the gold I was wearing at the time," Keeran claimed.
He further stated that as he was leaving the toilets, a man followed him and seemed quite aggressive. Mr. Rolls was then hit, and his brow split open.
Later in the evening, Mr. Rolls claimed he was attacked again while playing bingo. A man approached him, reaching out his hand for a shake, only to hit Mr. Rolls on the side of his face.
Hotel staff, according to Mr. Rolls' partner Lucy, were aware of the attackers' reputation for being aggressive but allegedly refused to notify the authorities.
"It was an absolute nightmare," Lucy said. "I have never experienced something like that where we were scared for our lives."
The incident raises concerns about the safety of guests at popular tourist resorts in Turkey. Travelers should review safety protocols and emergency contacts at their accommodations.
Loveholidays, the travel company through which the holiday was booked, has issued a statement saying they have investigated the complaint and refunded the couple for their accommodation costs as a "gesture of goodwill."
"We are very sorry to hear of Mr Rolls and Ms Welch's experience on their recent holiday," the Loveholidays spokesperson said. "We take the safety of our customers seriously and have offered Mr Rolls and Ms Welch a full refund for their accommodation as a gesture of goodwill."
