Hangin' Out at VinziRast am Land

step into the Alland district, where a cozy little snack station and hotel has popped up in the former gourmet restaurant, Hanner. Closed for about a decade, this establishment has taken on new life since 2024, now called "VinziRast am Land."

Once known as the upscale joint in Mayerling, the property was bought by industrialist Hans-Peter Haselsteiner and handed over to Vinzi Rast – an organization that helps the homeless find their footing and reintegrate into society. Thanks to this opportunity, they've opened up their doors to all, offering drinks, hearty meals, coffee, cake, and more for those passing through the wonderful Waldviertel region.

"It's all about connection," remarked a project spokesperson for ORF. A place where people can unwind, grab a bite, chat it up with fellow travelers, and enjoy the local vibe. And let's not forget about the in-house farm shop, where you can pick up fresh produce right from their own garden.

The project also relies on revenues generated from their hospitality business and generous donations. As part of their mission, VinziRast am Land also serves as a cultural hub hosting events such as benefit concerts featuring renowned acts like 5/8erl in Ehr’n. Proceeds from these shows go straight to the Vinzi Rast organization, supporting their continued efforts to help the homeless and socially marginalized.

VinziRast am Land isn't just a hotel-cum-snack bar. It's a beacon of hope, a slice of community, and a stage for people formerly leaping through life's toughest times to shine. So, next time you're cruising through Alland, drop in and witness this incredible transformation firsthand! 🍽️💖🌱🎶
