Nuremberg Airport Marks 70th Anniversary with Aviation Festival
On the 25th of May, 2025, Nuremberg Airport will commemorate its 70th anniversary with a grand festive event on its premises. Aviation enthusiasts, families, and the general public are invited to participate in this free event, running from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The festival will take place on the open-air area U1 near the tower and parking lot P7. Visitors can anticipate an eclectic mix of exhibitions, activities, and demonstrations, showcasing the intricacies of aviation and airport operations.
Exhibits include various commercial aircraft, helicopters, and specialized equipment like the German Bundeswehr Eurofighter and a US Army Boeing AH-64 Apache. Ground support vehicles and vehicles from airport authorities such as the fire department, police, Federal Agency for Technical Relief, and Red Cross will also be on display. Customs dogs will conduct live demonstrations of their detection skills throughout the day.
Sightseeing flights in small aircraft, apron bus tours, and flight simulators will provide thrilling experiences. Visitors can also engage in numerous children's activities, participate in an airport competition, and enjoy the offerings of various food trucks and drink stands.
Interactive elements, such as the rollover simulator offered by ADAC, and displays by regional partners, airlines, and tour operators, will round out the program. Announced exhibitors total around 50.
