Lufthansa Unveils Winter Flight Schedule for Munich with A380 Upgrades

Beginning October 26, 2025, Lufthansa is set to debut its winter flight schedule, introducing changes for passengers traveling from Munich Airport.

Munich, Germany - The upcoming winter season will see Lufthansa, Germany's largest airline, revamping its flight schedule for Munich Airport. With departure dates coinciding with the switch from daylight saving time to standard time on October 26, 2025, passengers can expect some alterations in their travel plans.

While a multitude of new destinations may not be on the horizon, stability, punctuality, and reliability, especially during the Christmas holidays, remain the airline's top priorities, according to Dieter Vranckx, Chief Commercial Officer of the Lufthansa Group.

One notable change for the winter schedule is the increased deployment of Lufthansa's A380 cabin. Daily flights will depart from Munich to popular destinations such as New York (JFK and New Jersey-Newark), Chicago, Shanghai, Cape Town, Miami, Tokyo, and Bengaluru in India. The A380 cabin will be available in all booking classes during the winter season, with ten Airbus A350-900 aircraft dedicated for this purpose.

Notably, San Francisco has been added as a new A380 destination for the winter season, starting at the end of October 2025. This addition follows Lufthansa's strategy to concentrate the A380 on high-demand destinations during the colder months, when increased capacity is available.

San Francisco will be joining existing winter A380 services to Los Angeles, Bangkok, and Delhi. Bhopal's Oradea, however, will continue to be served with weekly flights.

The summer destinations Boston, Denver, New York, and Washington D.C., currently served by the A380, will be operated by the Airbus A350 during the winter season.
