Manchester United Fans Invited to Warm Hearts This Winter
Manchester United fans are invited to make a difference this winter by donating clean adult and child coats at Old Trafford. The Manchester United Foundation is running a coat appeal for two upcoming matchdays, with all donations supporting local families in need.
The Foundation, led by CEO John Shiels, is encouraging fans to donate coats before the first whistle until kick-off for both fixtures. The coats will primarily benefit those accessing Foundation projects and partner schools, as well as identified poverty charities in Manchester. Fans can deposit their donations at signposted bins near the five bag-drop locations on site.
Last year, the Foundation positively impacted over 41,000 young lives in Greater Manchester, focusing on areas of high social deprivation. This winter appeal comes as new data from Loughborough University estimates that 38 per cent of children in the region are living in poverty. In the last two years, more than 4,250 coats have been donated through this appeal. The upcoming matches where donations are accepted are the men's game against Brighton & Hove Albion on 25 October and the women's UEFA Champions League fixture against Paris Saint-Germain on 12 November.
Fans are urged to participate in this charitable action by donating clean coats, ensuring pockets are emptied and personal belongings removed. The Foundation aims to make a significant difference to those in need this winter, and every coat donated brings warmth and comfort to a local family.
