The Klangvokal Music Festival returns to Dortmund from June 1 to June 22, 2025, offering a influenced extravaganza of diverse musical performances. Over the course of three weeks, a variety of musicians, singers, and ensembles will entertain audiences in churches, concert halls, clubs, and outdoors.

The festival commences on June 1 with an Italian opera gala at the concert hall, starring Maria Agresta, Martin Muehle, Pretty Yende, Angelo Villari, and other esteemed opera performers (1). Additional genres, such as jazz and gospel, will also be on display throughout the festival (4).

Notable events include the Prince of Music at St. Marienkirche, Dortmund, featuring a multi-genre array of performances, and the appearance of the critically acclaimed Stile Antico ensemble (3,4). On June 4, the diverse vocal talents of Max Emanuel Cencic will be featured, as will be seen during his performances at the Handel Festival in Halle (5).

The Festival of Choirs serves as a major attraction, bringing together choruses from cities, regions, and North Rhine-Westphalia for a diverse range of musical performances. Over 120 performances will take place during the festival month, including sing-alongs, outdoor performances, and street shows (4).

On June 12, the Tiburtina Ensemble from Prague will offer a captivating exploration of medieval music, while the Ensemble Morekoma will present diverse melodies from the Indian Ocean as a family concert in the Ruhr area on June 15 (2).
