Weidenau Train Station Transformation: KEG's Modern Mobility Centre

The train station building in Weidenau is currently undergoing a significant transformation, as announced by the Communal Development Company (KEG) Siegen. By the end of 2025, the station will be reborn as a modern mobility center, offering improved transportation services and enhanced community facilities.

KEG purchased the train station building from Deutsche Bahn and the demolition of the old canopy is already underway. The new entrance area is expected to be completed by October, after which access to the train tracks will be available.

In the meantime, the Deutsche Bahn travel center is temporarily housed in a container on the parking lot to the right of the station building. This arrangement will remain in place until the end of 2025, when the modern mobility center is scheduled to open.

The modern mobility center will boast high-quality dining facilities and office spaces, making it a hub for both travel and work. A protection tunnel is being constructed to guide travelers to and from the platforms during the demolition process, ensuring safety throughout the transformation.

Though specific dates and detailed schedules are not yet available, KEG's plans for the Weidenau train station include a comprehensive renovation that will breathe new life into the station and the surrounding area.

For the latest updates on the project, you can visit the KEG website or contact local authorities. We will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
