SET Hub Launches to Drive Energy Transition with Smart Metering Start-ups

A consortium of companies, including Makersite and backed by investors like Lightrock, Partech, and Schneider Electric's SE Ventures, has launched the SET Hub project. This initiative aims to support and connect innovative start-ups in the energy sector, focusing on sustainable, digital, and technological solutions to drive the energy transition.

The project, named SET Hub, is designed to foster start-ups working on smart metering systems. These systems aim to provide added value while ensuring security and interoperability. A recent analysis, 'Smart Metering System - Cornerstone for the Digitalization of the Energy System', delves into the regulatory and technical requirements of these systems and explores their future application areas.

Smart metering systems are the backbone of various applications. These include automated plant control, dynamic electricity tariffs, and real-time grid operation. Makersite, a key player in the project, offers a sustainability platform that uses digital twins to aid sustainable decisions across product lifecycles.

The SET Hub project, involving Makersite and supported by prominent investors, seeks to advance the energy transition through innovative start-ups focusing on smart metering systems. These systems, as highlighted in a recent analysis, are crucial for the digitalization of the energy sector and have wide-ranging applications.
