Summer Kick-off at Art Safari: Introduces Children's Program in Bucharest
Bucharest's popular art event, Art Safari, launches its summer 2025 program with a family-friendly edition, running from May 29 to June 1. The event, hosted at Palatul Dacia-Romania, offers an immersive and engaging experience for children and families.
This special edition includes two unique exhibitions: "Dogs vs. Cats" and "Once Upon a Time." The former showcases artworks by esteemed Romanian artists, along with emotionally significant objects, such as vintage toys in partnership with the Toy Museum. "Dogs vs. Cats" focuses on the profound connection between people and their pets.
Meanwhile, "Once Upon a Time" embodies the enchanting realm of fairy tales. This exhibition combines visual arts with creative play, showcasing artistic works inspired by castles, royalty, knights, and mythical creatures, alongside LEGO dioramas with the same themes.
A series of creative workshops for children, such as painting, collage, origami, and face painting, are available, inspired by the new exhibitions. All materials are provided, and guidance is given by visual artists. These workshops take place from May 29 to June 1.
On May 31 and June 1, at 4:00 PM, in the "Dogs vs. Cats" exhibition space, an animal-loving workshop will be led by Tudor-Tim Ionescu. Ionescu is a certified dog training instructor, a master's student in Ethology and Human-Animal Interaction at USAMV Cluj-Napoca, and a PhD student researching cruelty towards animals in social media and methods to combat it. Ionescu and his dog Butelie represented Romania at the FMBB World Championship Italy 2024, where the national team ranked 5th globally in mondioring, a canine protection sport.
The event also features a dog and cat adoption fair on May 31, organized in collaboration with ASPA (Animal Protection Association). This initiative aims to spread awareness about animal adoption and welfare, offering families the chance to connect with pets in need.
George Tutuța, the Mayor of District 1, expressed his support for such initiatives, stating, "Art teaches us to appreciate the beauty around us, while caring for animals teaches us to value life itself. We endorse initiatives that cultivate empathy, education, and responsibility, values crucial for a civilized community."
