Thrilling vacations brimming with excitement, films, and photography at Krea Youth Club

In the summer of 2025, the Krea Youth Club offered an array of creative and engaging activities for children and young people aged 10 to 14. Funded by both the Ministry for Children, Youth, Family, Equality, Flight and Integration of North Rhine-Westphalia and the city of Bergisch Gladbach, these projects provided a lively environment for participants to gain new experiences.

One such project was an experiential pedagogical holiday trip to Dürscheid. Led by Andra Klaukien and the team from Catweasel Cologne, this trip saw the children climbing rope constructions, practising archery, and completing outdoor challenges to strengthen teamwork, skill, courage, endurance, and new friendships.

Meanwhile, the Krea Youth Club was transformed into an animation studio for a week. The animation workshop, led by Christian Asmussen and Andra Klaukien, resulted in impressive short films that were presented at the end of the workshop. Participants were guided to develop their own stories, design sets, and create short films using various animation techniques.

In a separate project, the Image Lab opened for a photography project. Experiments were conducted with mobile scanners during this project, and self-made light-sensitive paper and UV light were used to create fascinating blue images using DIN A4 negatives of photos.

The results of these creative encounters were deemed successful by Sigrid Brenner, director of the Bergisch Gladbach Creativity School e.V. She was particularly impressed by the short films created during the animation workshop and the new experiences provided by the Dürscheid trip.

While detailed information on the specific outcomes of these projects may not be readily available in the current search index, it is clear that the Krea Youth Club's summer holiday projects of 2025 were a resounding success.
