Title: Vote Now for Hvar in the Notable Conde Nest Awards
Revamped Article:
June 2, 2025 - Another shot at the travel industry's prestigious award, and Hvar's in the running - cast your vote! Voting ends June 30.
A chance purchase of a house in Jelsa on Hvar back in 2002 sent me on a journey of discovery. Little did I know about this island paradise, but the very first sight of it left me smitten. A useful map gracing the Jelsa waterfront told the story - 'Hvar is officially one of the 10 most beautiful islands in the world.'
I thought, 'Sweet, a good choice after all!' And boy, was I right! I had no idea my new home was this magnificent, or how much joy it would bring me for the 13 blissful years I lived there.
You might wonder where comes this accolade from, right? Well, it turns out it came from the prestigious Conde Nast Readers Awards in 1998, as I stumbled upon later. Since then, Hvar and Conde Nast have been synonyms in the travel world - a renowned travel brand and an elite destination.

Despite the myriad ways people look for travel recommendations nowadays, Conde Nast's influence remains potent, notably among the American market, which has been falling head over heels for Hvar in ever-increasing numbers - last year, the highest number of visitors to Hvar Town were Americans.
Hvar has been voted the Best Island in Europe by Conde Nast readers a couple of times, and it's a boon for an island that's courting the American market. If you're a Hvar devotee, this is your chance to vote for Croatia's leading island in 2025.

Recently, Hvar has made a splash in Conde Nast:
Some locations seek the spotlight. Hvar has deliberately stayed out of it. Nestled on Croatia's Dalmatian coast, Hvar has subtly risen to become the sanctuary of choice for those who don't need validation to belong. Stars, nobles, designers, editors - they come not for publicity, but for privacy behind the pine trees. Not to show off, but to truly unwind.
Country:
In a world brimming with destinations fighting for attention, Hvar is the exception, offering an experience of genuine impression, rather than an attempt to impress.
What true luxury truly feels like Hvar Town unfurls from a deep, sheltered harbor that catches the morning sun as if designed for it. The colossal stone piazza, lined with cafes and overseen by St. Stephen's Cathedral, leads into narrow streets of limestone and bougainvillea.
Birthday:
Yachts moor offshore, but there's no red carpet. Celebrities show up and disappear unnoticed. The locals let them be. Such freedom, in a world obsessed with spectacle, is worth more than exclusivity.
