Weekend access granted for Düsseldorf Airport's visitor terrace

Düsseldorf Airport has announced the opening of a temporary visitor terrace at the airport station for three weekends in August. The terrace, located adjacent to the air security area, will be open from August 10th-11th, August 16th-17th, and August 23rd-24th.

Visitors to the terrace can enjoy a unique view of aircraft taking off and landing, including the world's largest passenger aircraft, the Airbus A380, and smaller aircraft like the Cessna "Skyhawk." The terrace also offers small activities on the parking deck, such as information stands and a hands-on corner for children.

The terrace is accessible through a control at the entrance, and structural changes are being considered to make security checks unnecessary for the visitor terrace at Terminal B. However, visitors are not allowed to bring luggage, larger bags, pocket knives, or other dangerous objects to the temporary visitor terrace.

It is currently unclear when and whether the visitor terrace at Terminal B will reopen permanently. The terrace at Terminal B has been closed since the beginning of the Corona pandemic.

Admission to the temporary visitor terrace is free, but time slots must be booked on the airport's website. It is important to note that there is no possibility to store or lock anything on site at the temporary visitor terrace.

For those interested in visiting the terrace or learning more about the exact opening times, entry requirements, and duration of operation, we recommend checking Düsseldorf Airport's official website or contacting their information desk directly.

The airport is also exploring the possibility of operating the visitor terrace at Terminal B profitably together with external partners, such as catering.

We hope this information helps you plan your visit to the Düsseldorf Airport visitor terrace. Enjoy the view!
