Welcome Home to Bellevue Syrene: A Historic Italian Gem

The Bellevue Syrene hotel in Sorrento, operated by the O'Puledrone family since 1920, welcomes guests with the warm phrase 'welcome home'. This historic hotel, continuously operating since 1820, is now led by fourth-generation hotelier Elsa Russo and her daughters.

The hotel's roots trace back to 6 AD, when Emperor Augustus exiled his grandson Agrippa Postumus to the area. Postumus' love for fishing and the sea led him to carve intricate nymphaeums into the tuff cliffs, now part of the hotel's Roman grotto. The main villa, built in 1750 by the Counts of Mastrobuono, was transformed into a hotel in 1820 and has since offered 50 spacious rooms with panoramic views over the Bay of Naples, earning it a Five Star Luxury designation.

Guests can enjoy day trips to the Russo-Attanasio family's Capo Santo Fortunata villa, a private refuge. Breakfast is served on the terrace of one of the oldest parts of the villa, accompanied by a musician playing 'Moon River' on a white baby grand, with a view of Mount Vesuvius. The Costiera Bar, known for its historic atmosphere, ensures guests feel a sense of belonging and importance.

The Bellevue Syrene hotel, a member of Relais & Châteaux since 2009, preserves its unique identity while offering luxurious accommodation and exceptional service. Its rich history, from ancient Roman times to the present day, makes it a truly special place to stay.
