West Coast Airline Expands Flight Network with New Routes
Alaska Airlines Announces Seven New West Coast Routes
Alaska Airlines is set to launch seven new routes connecting California, Oregon, Washington, and Idaho, starting from October 2025 to January 2026. The new routes aim to enhance regional connectivity for both business and leisure travelers [1][2][3].
The new routes include:
- From Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) to:
- Eugene, Oregon (EUG)
- Pasco, Washington (PSC)
- Redmond, Oregon (RDM) (marking Alaska’s sixth route to Redmond)
- From San Diego (SAN) to:
- Sun Valley, Idaho (SUN) (seasonal winter service)
Additional connections involve:
- Boise, Idaho (BOI)
- Palm Springs, California (PSP)
- Santa Rosa, California (STS)
These routes will primarily be operated by Embraer 175 aircraft, with daily or seasonal frequencies depending on the destination and season [2][3]. The expansion underscores Alaska Airlines' role as a leading carrier between West Coast secondary markets and the Pacific Northwest [2][3].
The Hollywood Burbank to Eugene, Pasco, and Redmond routes will operate year-round from October 26, 2025. The Boise to Ontario route will start on January 7, 2026, strengthening Alaska Airlines' presence in the Los Angeles area.
Four new routes from Alaska Airlines will commence on October 26, 2025. Five of these routes will operate year-round, while two are set to run seasonally during the winter months. The San Diego to Sun Valley route will operate three times a week during the winter season, starting on December 18, 2025.
The new routes also include flights to Eugene (EUG), Pasco (PSC), and Redmond (RDM) in Oregon and Washington. Alaska Airlines is seizing the opportunity to meet rising demand for travel across the Pacific Northwest and California, as low-cost airline Avelo Airlines is preparing to exit the West Coast market at Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR).
Three of the new routes will depart directly from Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) to destinations in Oregon and Washington. Additional routes include Palm Springs (PSP) to Santa Rosa (STS), San Diego (SAN) to Sun Valley (SUN), Boise (BOI) to Ontario (ONT), and Spokane (GEG) to Orange County (SNA).
Alaska Airlines is also offering a "Wine Flies Free" program, allowing passengers to check an entire case of wine for free when flying from 32 West Coast cities [1][2]. This initiative further emphasizes the airline's commitment to catering to its passengers' needs and preferences.
In a press release, Kirsten Amrine, vice president of revenue management and network planning at Alaska Airlines, stated, "We are excited to offer more flights and seats between California, Washington, and Oregon, enhancing connectivity and convenience for travelers heading to and from the Pacific Northwest and California."
With these new routes, Alaska Airlines continues to solidify its position as the only global airline based on the West Coast, providing more travel options for its customers.
